Hidden gem in God's own country, Kerala

My recent one-week Ayurveda Rejuvenation stay at Softouch Ayurveda Village was an absolute sanctuary for my body, mind, and spirit. Tucked away on the peaceful Chalakudy River, this boutique, NABH-accredited hospital masterfully blends clinical Ayurvedic expertise with quiet, high-end luxury. Because the property intentionally limits its capacity, the entire experience felt profoundly personal and deeply nurturing from the moment I arrived via their seamless Cochin Airport transfer. I received two highly focused therapies a day — including Abhyangam and Shirodhara administered by two exceptionally skilled and synchronized therapists. A persistent shoulder ache and feet pain vanished by day three, and my physical fatigue evaporated. The house doctors are always there to help you and keep checking upon you. They also advise you on your day to day lifestyle improvement and food diet to achieve better results after you come back. I stayed in a spacious, air-conditioned villa that beautifully balanced traditional Keralan architectural design with crisp, modern luxuries. Waking up every morning to a private balcony view of the lush, green gardens and the calm river immediately lowered my cortisol levels. The entire property remains remarkably immaculate, quiet, and optimized for an authentic digital detox. The daily yoga and meditation sessions in the open air perfectly complemented the physical treatments, helping to calm my racing mind. As part of the week-long package, the team arranged a beautiful afternoon excursion to the nearby Athirappilly Waterfalls, which was a spectacular highlight. The full-board, organic vegetarian meals were individually prepared based on our doctors’ dietary scripts. The home-cooked Keralan flavours were outstanding, keeping me light, satisfied, and highly energized. All the food was freshly prepared in house and under the supervision of the owner herself, which gives you a homely feeling. What truly elevates Softouch is the warmth of the owners and their elite team. From Remya’s highly efficient daily coordination to the sweet, attentive hospitality of the kitchen and medical staff, I was treated like a beloved family member rather than a clinical patient. They always took the time to explain the clinical “why” behind every herb, medicine, and lifestyle recommendation. If you are looking to counter the toxic buildup of a high-stress lifestyle, realign your health, and truly reset, do not hesitate to book a stay here. One week gave me an incredible energy recharge, but I already know I will return next year for a longer, 14-day detox program.

An awesome visit

I visited the facility with my mother. My mother is 88 years old and we had also taken her caregiver with us. Our experience at the facility was excellent. The leadership style of the owner Mrs Preeti, with a razor focus on customer care and attention to detail, percolates down to all the staff. For me there were some special needs for my mom and everybody went far and beyond to accommodate. The routine is filled and yet not too hectic, and you can set your own pace. The focus is on therapeutics and yet with some fun and frolic. During our stay there was an arranged traditional Kerala “ottamthullal” from Kerala Kala Mandapam — which was just awesome. We finished our visit with some fond memories. I could refer this facility to anyone without reservations for a quiet, relaxing, therapeutic and discovery visit.

An exceptional experience. The entire team was very kind and attentive at all times to what I might need, the environment was very beautiful and peaceful, and the therapies and yoga classes were incredibly refreshing and rejuvenating! I went for only 4 days, but it is definitely recommended to stay a few more days. An unforgettable experience, without a doubt, and when I can, I will return.

This was my first time setting foot on Indian soil and my first in-depth experience with Ayurvedic therapy, and the whole week was wonderful! The staff were all very friendly and flexible when discussing things with them. The food was amazing — although it was vegetarian, I didn’t miss the taste of meat at all. I visited in early July, during the rainy season. There were fewer tourists, which gave me more opportunities to connect with nature and the peaceful atmosphere, making my meditation sessions even more impactful. Although it was only a week, many long-standing problems from city life showed significant improvement. Highly recommended — everyone should check it out.

An excellent blend of luxury and authentic Ayurveda. Outstanding doctors and therapists. I enjoyed the Panchakarma treatments, a spacious cottage, nature walks, the nearby river and exceptional food. Highly recommended for wellness and chronic health concerns.
