History of Softouch Ayurveda
Founding of the Softouch Brand - Since 1992
Before founding Softouch Ayurveda Village & Resort in Kerala, Davis Karadan, the founder, had already left a notable mark in the health and fitness industry. He pioneered the first high-tech gym in Kerala at the Regional Sports Centre, inaugurated by Padma Shri Kamal Hassan. The Softouch Ayurveda brand was established 31 years ago in 1992 at ITDC Kovalam, with the mission of introducing luxury Ayurvedic treatments to a global audience.
International Expansion & Growth
Softouch seized an international opportunity when Mr. Reto Wittwer, the former CEO of Kempinski, visited the Ayurveda centre at Kovalam and recognized the potential of extending genuine Ayurvedic therapies to luxurious resorts. This vision materialized when Softouch became the first luxury Ayurveda Spa in the United Arab Emirates by partnering with Kempinski Hotel Ajman. In the following decade, Softouch accelerated its efforts and collaborated with prestigious international chains such as Grecotel, Le Méridien, Luxury Collection, Damac, Sport Hotel, and Ramada. Softouch Ayurveda expanded its operations to 25 Ayurveda at its peak serving locations from the United Arab Emirates, Djibouti, Greece, Spain, Andorra to Malta.
Launch of Softouch Ayurveda Village & Health Resort in Kerala - October, 2023
After thoughtful deliberation, we chose to establish an Ayurveda Village in Kerala, India, where we could provide personalized Ayurvedic therapies, emanating from the birthplace of Ayurveda itself. Opting for a small boutique operation, our focus lies on highly individualized treatments rather than a typical commercial approach. Over the years, our passion and dedication have served people from diverse backgrounds and nationalities, aiding countless individuals in healing and recovering from various health issues.

Chief Physician and Senior Consultant
Dr Jugunu Raj, MD (Panchakarma), is a highly skilled Ayurvedic physician specialising in the management of musculoskeletal, digestive, skin, and lifestyle disorders. With a strong foundation in classical Panchakarma therapies, she focuses on identifying and addressing the root cause of disease rather than merely treating symptoms.
Senior Ayurveda Resident Doctor
Dr Anjana L R is an Ayurveda Gynaecologist (MS in Prasuti Tantra & Streeroga) specialising in holistic, root-cause-oriented women’s healthcare. She provides personalised Ayurvedic treatment for menstrual irregularities, PCOS, endometriosis, infertility, hormonal imbalances, fertility support, and comprehensive pregnancy care.
