Softouch Ayurveda was established in 1992. Today our Ayurveda Village in Chalakudy, Kerala is a NABH-accredited hospital and boutique retreat — 18 riverfront acres where authentic, doctor-led Ayurveda meets quiet luxury, 50 minutes from Cochin Airport.
A hidden gem tucked away in serene Chalakudy, our exclusive 18-acre health resort harmoniously merges authentic Ayurvedic medicine with quiet luxury. The architecture and interiors draw on Kerala’s traditional design, infused with modern comfort — from grand suites to spacious villas and cosy cottages.
We take a genuinely holistic, medical approach to wellness. Every stay begins with a consultation with an Ayurvedic doctor, and — with resident and consultant physicians on site — guests can undertake treatments from Abhyanga and Shirodhara to full Panchakarma, each designed to restore balance in body, mind and spirit. A deliberately limited number of rooms keeps the care exceptionally personal.

Chief Physician & Senior Consultant
Holding a Postgraduate Diploma in Acupuncture and practising since 2006, Dr Henry Prasad specialises in the management of rheumatoid conditions, skin disorders and varicose-vein concerns. He has worked with us for over 15 years across the UAE, Malta and Djibouti, bringing valuable international experience.
Consultant Panchakarma Specialist
Dr Jugunu Raj, MD (Panchakarma), is a highly skilled Ayurvedic physician specialising in the management of musculoskeletal, digestive, skin and lifestyle disorders. With a strong foundation in classical Panchakarma therapies, she focuses on identifying and addressing the root cause of disease rather than merely treating symptoms.
Ayurveda Gynaecologist & Fertility Consultant
Dr Anjana L R is an Ayurveda Gynaecologist (MS in Prasuti Tantra & Streeroga) specialising in holistic, root-cause-oriented women's healthcare. She provides personalised Ayurvedic treatment for menstrual irregularities, PCOS, endometriosis, infertility, hormonal imbalances, fertility support and comprehensive pregnancy care.
Resident Ayurveda Doctor
Dr Anjana Sathyan, BAMS, is our Resident Doctor, dedicated to assisting and consulting guests daily. Honoured with the Best Coordinator Award in 2023, she has been instrumental in setting up our NABH accreditation and has been with us since the beginning — a core pillar of our organisation.
Yoga & nursing care
Yogacharya · Certified Yoga Therapist
Yogacharya Sanjay Anand R is our Certified Yoga Therapist, guiding guests in therapeutic yoga at the Village since 2025. He holds a BSS Certificate in Therapeutic Yoga (Government of India affiliated) and is yoga faculty at the Centre for Yoga and Naturopathy, M.G. University, Kottayam. Across 29 years on the yoga path, he has trained and examined teachers for institutions affiliated with the Yoga Alliance (USA), the Indian Yoga Association and S-VYASA University, Bangalore. His sessions, for every level from beginner to advanced, blend classical asana, pranayama and meditation.
Ayurveda Medical Nurse
Achu S is our Ayurveda Medical Nurse, holding a B.Sc. in Ayurveda Nursing from MVR Ayurveda Medical College. He trained for two years at AVP Hospital & Training Academy in Coimbatore, one of India's most established Ayurveda institutions, where he built hands-on experience in patient assessment, daily nursing care, treatment assistance and emergency response. He works alongside our doctors and therapists throughout your stay — following your progress, supporting you through each therapy, and making sure every guest is cared for with patience and genuine warmth.

Our Story
1992
Before founding Softouch Ayurveda Village, founder Davis Karadan had already left a mark on health and fitness — pioneering Kerala's first high-tech gym at the Regional Sports Centre, inaugurated by Padma Shri Kamal Haasan. The Softouch brand was established in 1992 at ITDC Kovalam, with a mission to bring luxury Ayurvedic treatment to a global audience.
2000s
After Mr Reto Wittwer, the former CEO of Kempinski, visited the Kovalam centre and recognised the potential of authentic Ayurveda in luxury resorts, Softouch became the first luxury Ayurveda spa in the UAE at Kempinski Hotel Ajman. Over the following decade we partnered with Grecotel, Le Méridien, Luxury Collection, Damac, Sport Hotel and Ramada — growing to 25 Ayurveda centres at our peak, across the UAE, Djibouti, Greece, Spain, Andorra and Malta.
June 2023
We chose to establish an Ayurveda Village in Kerala — the birthplace of Ayurveda — as a small boutique operation focused on highly individualised treatment rather than a commercial approach. Over the years our care has served guests of diverse backgrounds and nationalities, helping countless people heal and recover.
September 2025
Softouch Ayurveda Village became NABH-accredited — recognised by the National Accreditation Board for Hospitals & Healthcare Providers under the Quality Council of India (QCI). It ensures ethical practice, qualified medical supervision and globally aligned standards, blending the timeless wisdom of Ayurveda with modern quality systems.
